Bhairavi temple - Odisha

Berhampur is famous for a temple dedicated to Maa Bhairavi. It has become an important Sakti Pitha Venerable for the fisherman community that lives in nearby villages Mantridi. Tourists from almost all parts Odisha  Andhra Pradesh visit this holy shrine every day. The idols of several goddesses and gods are enshrined in the temple premises. The important dates with the deity are the Sankranties of the Hindu calendar, and all Tuesdays.

Odisha tourism - Gopalpur

Gopalpur is situated on the Bay of Bengal is about 16km far from Berhampur Odisha. It is one of the most pristine beaches of Odisha. White surf splashing on the golden sands makes it one of the finest beaches on the eastern coast. The cool breeze of the sea gives a freshness to the intense hit of the summer It is famous for its coconut trees and and sand dunes which separate the beach from the blue waters act as the perfect setting for peace and tranquility. It was a famous and popular seaport during the British rule. There are several bungalows and mansions belonging to the European merchants give it’s a colonial look. Watching the life on the beach is also exciting. Gopalpur famous for its magnificent beach and was discovered as a perfect winter resort.

Gopalpur is well connected by NH 5. It is around 16KM far from Berhampur. Regular bus services are available. Taxis and Autorickshaws are also available.

Odisha tourism - Taratarini temple

Tara Tarini Peeth is situated on the top of a small Taratarini hill near Purusottampur of Ganjam District. It is around 30 kms from Berhampur. The Twin Goddesses Tara and Tarini are worshiped as manifestations of Adi Shakti. Everyday devotees from different parts of Odisha come here.

River Rushikulya flows at the foot of the hill. From the hill top down to the bank of river Rushikulya and farms look very beautiful. The hills height is approximately 708ft. and the total area spreading over 180 Acres of land. The hill is popularly known as Taratarini Hill. There are 999 steps on the front side of the hill leading to the temple and also a road for vehicle on the backside of the hill facilitating devotees to reach at the Pitha. Best time to Visit: October to April

Nearest railway Stations : Berhampur - 32 kms and Chatrapur- 30 kms. The Distance of Tara-Tarini Hill is from Jagannathapur on N.H.-5 is about 22 K.M.  Nearest Airport: BHUBANESWAR, 179 Kms from where you can find Buses in every hour and Trains to Berhampur in south where you can find Cars to reach at the Place. The Buses or Trains will take 2 and half of hour to reach Berhampur.
